Vancouver Queer Arts Festival 2011 – Promotional Poster
Created a bold, contemporary art-style poster that celebrated queer identity and promoted the 2011 Vancouver Queer Arts Festival, functioning both as a striking standalone artwork and a clear event advertisement. The final design drew visual inspiration from playing cards, using reimagined kings, queens, jacks, and jokers as central motifs to queer and subvert traditional hierarchies and gender roles. Mirrored card layouts, symmetrical compositions, and bold suit-like symbols were combined with vibrant, non-traditional colour palettes to suggest fluidity, multiplicity, and intersectional identities.
