As part of the 2014 Our City Festival, I returned to Grace House to work with students on piece of work that discussed recent classroom activities concerning energy consumption and the environmental impact.
The concept was to use a traffic-light colour code system to highlight energy consumption of a traditional Khmer household, new large villas, and hotels. Repeating previous printmaking techniques, the children created prints across these three stylized energy-consuming accommodations of the various appliances inside that use electricity.
The elder students training to be electricians as part of the vocational training at Grace House then installed solar powered lights for an opportunity to engage public discussion of alternative energy sources.
